Bill Whitfield on Michael Jackson’s death
During a conversation with The Sun on August 29, the celebrity security pro spoke at length about Michael Jackson and revealed some of the late singer’s most vulnerable moments. Talking about the frail and stress the music legend faced during the weeks leading up to his death, Bill said, “Prior to the whole This Is It tour coming into play, a lot had changed. There were more people in his life and it became hectic. He was doing a lot of rehearsing. I could tell it was weighing on him.”
Talking about him being intentionally killed – the singer’s death was ruled a homicide and his personal doctor, Conrad Murray, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter, the bodyguards said, “Do I think someone made a mistake? Yes,” before adding, “But the thought that [he died] at the hands of someone intentionally, that doesn’t weigh with me.”
He continued, “I’ve often been asked, what do I think killed him? And I’ve told people, a lot of everything. And (that) includes a lot of us.” Stating that Jackson was always surrounded by “so many people that wanted not only to be near him, but who wanted something from him,” he said, “And that can be overwhelming. He was definitely stressed out. And stress kills.”
